Welcome to our Tiny Forest
Ireland's first Tiny Forest was planted on 22nd March 2023, at the Tolka River Project in the Buzzardstown area of Dublin.
The Tolka River project is a community based rehabilitation programme, and the Tiny Forest was planted next to their centre, allowing the Tiny Forest to develop as a space for reflection and recovery, helping the project's clients in their pathway to recovery.
The Tiny Forest was planted in a day of major celebration, with Tolka River Project clients and staff from Mini Ireland working side by side to plant the trees. Gerry Ryan, service manager at Tolka River Project, said: "This Tiny Forest symbolically shows that recovery is something that needs to be looked after, the growth of this forest and the requirement of looking after is symbolic in nature to recovery. We plan on using this space to develop recovery based programmes such as mindfulness, yoga in addition to using it as a social space".
