Welcome to our Tiny Forest
William Torbitt Primary School has planted the London Borough of Redbridge’s first Tiny Forest! Children at William Torbitt Primary School were able to plant 600 plants from 21 species including Heather, Holly, Rowan, Oak and Dog Rose. On Tuesday 15th March during British Science Week, each pupil in Year 3, 4 and 6 worked together to carefully plant a range of trees and shrubs to form a Tiny Forest. Back in February 2022, William Torbitt planted 5 trees provided by Redbridge Council and 250 from NatWest Bank. All of the trees will be logged towards the Queen’s Green Canopy Initiative designed to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
