Welcome to our Tiny Forest
Campbelltown Council partnered with Earthwatch Australia to deliver Campbelltown's first Tiny Forest in the Billabong Parklands Precinct. This project celebrates Campbelltown’s vibrant Aboriginal community and creates biodiverse urban bushland in the heart of Campbelltown. Supported by Brother Australia, this unique initiative connects community, art, and Country through collaboration with Dharawal Elders and the Campbelltown Arts Centre community. Aboriginal artists Maddison Gibbs and Danielle Mate were engaged to create public artwork that connects the Tiny Forest to the Ngalambay underpass, celebrating Dharawal history and Connection to Country.
The forest design references Minerva Pools, and the plants are carefully selected from the pre-settlement ecology found around the Billabong Parklands, specifically the River-flat Eucalyptus Forest. Grasses line the edge of the pathway, guiding visitors from the Ngalambay underpass into the Tiny Forest.
